Ongoing Success as an Independent Insurance Agency
Mark Moores is named Agent of the Year

St. Paul, Minn. – (April 30, 2008) – Earlier this month, Mark Z. Moores, president of St. Paul-based Moores Insurance Management, Inc., attended the Minnesota Independent Insurance Agents Association (MIIAA) annual meeting. Unbeknownst to him, he would be honored by the Association that day, being named Agent of the Year for the state of Minnesota. There are more than 5,000 independent agents in Minnesota.

Contradicting the industry trend of conglomeration, Moores has maintained his independence for 28 years, choosing to build a boutique-style business that services clients in (29) states as well as numerous international locations. His 10-member team focuses on industry expertise and knowing their clients' individual business needs.

Today, amidst challenging economic times, business continues to grow exponentially – solely through referrals. "Our clients appreciate that there's a consistency of service here as well as a heightened level of diligence to stay on top of their insurance and risk management needs," said Moores. Customers calling Moores Insurance Management will speak with Mark or one of his customer service representatives who they've worked with for many years….there's no need to start over with a new person as their businesses evolve and their needs change. And customers who refer clients or friends to Moores know that they will be treated with the same attention and care that they themselves receive.

Last year, a former CFO of one of Moores' clients, became CFO at a new company. He called and asked Mark to come in and conduct an analysis of risk at his current company. Moores found dozens of gaps in coverage in their existing program. This past client became a grateful new client. He quickly appointed Moores Insurance Management their new agency and adopted the recommended improvements to his program. "Our goal is to reduce risk, to stay attentive to a company's changing needs, while simultaneously strengthening their business" said Moores, who often serves as an advisor and consultant for his clients.

Moores credits much of his professional success to his commitment to client service and his belief in long-standing relationships. A graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in economics, Moores earned a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, as well as Associate of Risk Management (ARM) and Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI) certifications. Several years ago, the Minnesota Independent Insurance Agents Association named him "Young Agent of the Year," and he has been recognized with several other professional honors. Moores also mentors younger people in the industry and volunteers his skills to non-profit organizations.

Moores resides in St. Paul with his wife and three children.
