New CFO Joins St. Paul Agency

St. Paul, Minn. – (March 18, 2009) – Mark Z. Moores, president of St. Paul-based Moores Insurance Management, Inc., announced that Ivan Fercho has joined the agency as chief financial officer. The position is new to the agency, which has enjoyed ongoing growth over its 29-year history.

In his new role, Fercho will assume responsibility for the agency's financial and operational duties, providing Moores additional time to work directly with clients. Fercho's own 30-year career in the financial field is diverse, having served as CFO for a number of large Twin Cities' companies. Most recently, for more than a decade, Fercho was CFO for Toshiba Business Solutions. Operating offices in Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and Nebraska, Toshiba sells and services office products to this region of the country.

“This new position will allow me to oversee every element of the administrative, financial and operations side of this business,” said Fercho regarding his role at Moores Insurance Management. “It will be a great opportunity to partner with Mark and truly make a difference as we achieve ongoing growth in the industry,” he said.

The boutique-style personal and commercial insurance business that Moores has created has grown to be the largest independently-owned insurance agency in downtown St. Paul, and serves clients in 29 states and several international locations. Moores credits the continued growth to his agency's emphasis on personalized, strategic client service, its ability to provide differentiated risk analysis and consultation, and its focus on relationship building with respected professionals in the accounting, legal and financial fields, who provide ongoing referrals.

“I'm proud that our business is 100-percent referral based,” said Moores. Last year, Moores was honored by the Minnesota Independent Insurance Agents Association (MIIAA), named “Agent of the Year” for the state of Minnesota, where there are more than 5,000 independent agents operating.

Fercho is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, receiving his BSBA in Accounting. He and his wife have resided in Lakeville for 13 years.
